The Tax Section keeps its members informed of new tax issues and internal procedures of both the Internal Revenue Service and the Georgia Department of Revenue. The section hosts six programs a year to enlighten the membership about emerging issues within the Internal Revenue Service and/or the Georgia Department of Revenue. In addition the section hosts two liaison meetings each year with the Georgia Department of Revenue. At those meetings the Department of Revenue discusses recent procedures implemented to improve customer service. The section members also have the opportunity to advise the Department of Revenue on procedures that are not working so that the DOR and section membership can improve customer service to all taxpayers.

The annual dues of $25 to become a member of the Atlanta Bar Association Tax Law Section is a bargain.
