Mission

The Atlanta Bar Foundation, as the charitable arm of the Atlanta Bar Association, supports projects that promote equal access to justice, youth development programs and public understanding of the law. This includes youth development programs, such as the Atlanta Bar Association’s Pathways Internship Program, the first of its kind in the country, and the Atlanta Bar Association Summer Law Internship Program (SLIP).

Fundraising Events
A variety of fundraisers, some held annually, generate funding for worthy projects and support for the Atlanta Bar Foundation Grants Program. A Courthouse Line Productions, known as the Bard Show, are biannual all-lawyer musical theatre productions which provide showstopping entertainment from judges, lawyers, legal assistants and musicians. Fundraising events have also included Trivia Night, Drive-In Night, Fun on Tap, and Spirits of the Law Whiskey Tasting Social. In the past, fundraisers have included LawJam Battle of the Bands and the End of Summer Band Party.

The Legal Runaround 5K Race, Walk and Tot Trot is an annual September event held in partnership with the Atlanta Police Department. Proceeds benefit the Police Scholarship Fund which awards scholarships to children of slain or disable police officers in various counties throughout the metro Atlanta region.

Community Giving

Established in 1985 and in partnership with the Atlanta Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service, the Atlanta Bar Foundation Grants Program supports youth development programs of the Atlanta Bar Association, law related programs in the Atlanta area, and local non-profit legal services providers throughout metro Atlanta. To date, the program has distributed over $2 million in grant funding to worthy recipients. In addition to Atlanta Bar youth programs, beneficiaries include organizations that the Atlanta Bar helped establish, such as Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network, and Truancy Intervention Project. Other recipients include Georgia Innocence Project, Georgia Justice Project, Georgia Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, Gideon’s Promise, Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, and others.

The Legal Runaround
Thank you to everyone who joined us for The Legal Runaround! Proceeds benefited the Atlanta Bar Foundation Police Scholarship Fund, which provides college scholarships. To view the video, click HERE.

The Georgia - Florida Game
We had a great time at our first Friends, Family & Football Watch Party. Our members and their families enjoyed food, drinks, and a fantastic venue to watch the Dawgs handily defeat the Gators.
