Sole Practitioner/Small Firm

Formed in 1987-1988 by Judge T. Jackson Bedford, Jr. and Robert G. Wellon, the Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section was one of the first Bar Association Sections in the Country to dedicate programs and benefits for sole practitioners and small firms.  The Section became known as “Atlanta’s Largest Law Firm” because by 1995 the membership had increased to over 550 and always provides some of the advantages of a large-firm practice to the members.  The goal of the Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section is to increase revenue, enhance efficiency, and improve productivity of its members. It provides to its members some of the advantages of a large-firm practice. The section helps members to improve the quality and profitability through monthly breakfast and lunch meetings, networking activities, seminars, and social events. The focus of the monthly breakfast and lunch meetings is educational, and include topics such as the business of law, the economics of running a law practice, and marketing and management techniques. The section also provides pro bono opportunities for its members.

The annual dues of $15 for the first year of practice and $30 thereafter for members of the Atlanta Bar Association are a bargain.
