The Estate Planning & Probate Section provides support for attorneys who practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianships and conservatorships, helps promote and serve the interests of the public and the judiciary, and promotes a high degree of ethics, skill, and professionalism among its members.
The Section provides its members with a number of opportunities to learn and network, both within the Section and with other groups. There are eleven monthly Section breakfast meetings, each featuring a speaker on a topic of interest to Section members. Additionally, the Section hosts two luncheons per year. Each fall, the Section co-hosts a half-day Estate Planning Forum CLE with the Georgia Society of CPAs. The Section’s newsletter, The Mortmain, provides Section members with informative articles to supplement the many CLE opportunities. Finally, the Section offers its members the chance to serve the community and the courts through both the Fulton County Probate Court’s Probate Information Center and the DeKalb County Probate Court’s Probate Information Clinic. Both projects provide needed assistance to people who have questions or need help filing documents with the Probate Courts. By helping those people with their questions and filings, the volunteers also help the Courts. The annual dues to become a member of the Atlanta Bar Association Estate Planning and Probate Section are only $35. Section BylawsEstate Planning Leadership Members-At-Large
