In 2019 alone, an estimated 424,000 people were injured in accidents involving distracted drivers in the US. Distracted driving is a serious, ongoing issue, so I wanted to share a few tips to help you stay focused:

  • Do a final check before driving. Ensure your mirrors are adjusted, your bluetooth connection is set up, and your seat is fixed before you hit the gas.
  • Avoid multitasking. Most of us aren’t good at multitasking when we’re not driving, so leave the snacks and makeup for another time.
  • Use an app for safety. There are apps that can help reduce cell phone distractions when driving. Find one you like and let it run each time you drive.
  • Know the consequences. 49 states have bans on texting while driving, and you may pay a good bit in fines if you get caught.

I hope these tips are helpful reminders. Feel free to share them with others you think may benefit. And of course, if you have any legal needs or questions in the coming months, please do not hesitate to reach out. I’m here for you.
