The Women in Profession (WIP) Section has already had some great programs this year and has scheduled even more throughout June. We appreciate the work of our officers and the committee chairs. In February 2022, WIP had an online goal-setting workshop given by Senior Corporate Counsel Angela Han (HealthPro Heritage). Han is not only a lawyer; she is a life coach. She helps lawyers by transforming blind spots into strengths. Han is also the host of the “Fit to Practice” podcast, where she interviews lawyers on what it means to be fit to practice. Judge Ashley Drake (Magistrate Court of Fulton County), on the Program Committee, was responsible for inviting Han to speak.

On March 30, WIP sponsored the Women’s History Month CLE program, titled, “The Role of Professionalism in Advancing Legal Career Options for Women in Georgia, including the Evolution of Legal Career Options for Women,” with Judge Drake as one of the speakers.
From April 11th - 14th the Women in Profession members gathered with other members for small gatherings for Breakfast or Lunch at
various locations in metro Atlanta. WIP is also sponsoring a Dress for Success Clothing Drive, planned by Michelle Urbani-Wallace,
who oversees Community Service. In May 2022, WIP, Dispute Resolution and ACYL will sponsor a one-hour CLE on marketing and branding event with a cocktail reception at Nelson Mullins. Talis Trevino (Holland & Knight LLP) and Alisha Wyatt-Bullman (Office of General Counsel, SSA) will oversee this special event.

In June 2022, there will be the Women of Achievement luncheon on June 15, 2022, which is the highlight of the year. Nominations for the Woman of Achievement Award will soon be accepted. Requirements include being 1) A member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association in good standing, 2) Significant contributions in furthering the interests of women in the profession, 3) Involvement in activities that assist women in the metropolitan Atlanta community, 4) Involvement in professional organizations which assist in promoting and empowering women in the profession, and 5) Significant professional achievements.
