Atlanta Bar Association Blog

WIP continues to strengthen our commitment with Foreverfamily, Inc with the goal to provide unending support to Atlanta youth with a parent behind bars. Especially after our members received the Celebrating Service Award from the Atlanta Bar, we realized just how important this partnership is to the staff and participants of the program. We are the only consistent group of volunteers who not only are reliable each month so that the program can successfully function, but our members constantly find new ways to help beyond the monthly community service project.

During the holidays our members seek contributions so the child's current caretaker can provide Thanksgiving meals, and at Christmas we make sure that every young person receives a gift. The generosity of our members does not end there. Currently, we have a member creatively brainstorming ways to raise money to provide the program facility with a portable dishwasher. (Family dinners with fifty people using proper tableware settings produce a lot of dirty dishes for a Tuesday night! Foreverfamily, Inc. strives to stay eco-conscious and wants the kids to experience a nicely set table). Another WIP member has joined Foreverfamily's Young Professionals Board with the goal of raising $10,000 before April to allow each child to experience a week of summer camp outside of the city.

WIP excitedly accepts new volunteers and those willing to pitch in with ingenuity and a helping hand! Please contact Jessica Stern (Jessica@sternlawfirm.us) or Taylor Tribble (ttribble@huffpowellbailey.com) to get involved.
